SACHS

The SACHS brand has been well known among automotive enthusiasts since the earliest days of automobile manufacturing—ever since the companies of Ernst Sachs and Karl Fichtel merged to form the Fichtel & SACHS group.

On 1 July 2002, the merger of Lemförder International AG & Co. KG (LMI) and Sachs Handel GmbH resulted in the creation of the world’s largest ZF manufacturing and trading group.

SACHS meets 80% of European automotive manufacturers’ demand and operates 39 production sites worldwide.

Each year, SACHS manufactures more than 500 million shock absorbers, over 150 million clutches, and more than 4 million torque converters. Today, more than 50 companies worldwide—including BMW, Audi, Daimler-Benz, Ford, Fiat, Honda, Jaguar, Iveco, Lancia, Lada, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Opel, Nissan, Porsche, Peugeot, Rover, Renault, Scania, Saab, Toyota, VW, and others—use SACHS products.
