IDEMITSU

The history of Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. began in the city of Moji, located in Japan’s Fukuoka Prefecture. In 1911, Sazo Idemitsu started the business there, focusing on the sale of lubricants and fuel.

After the Second World War, the company became the second-largest oil producer in Japan and, from that point onward, expanded its operations actively not only within the country but also internationally. Today, IDEMITSU’s production capacity is located in Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Japan, Thailand, India, and the USA. The company’s product range includes approximately 2,000 types of oils, lubricants, and specialised technical fluids.

As an indication of the high level of trust in the brand, around 40% of automotive manufacturers in Japan use IDEMITSU engine oils for factory-fill on production lines.
